Helen Talbot

Real name: Helen Darling

1924 - 2010



Helen Talbot had a brief screen career during the 1940s and her total film appearances amount to about two dozen.

She was under a term player contract(s) at Republic Pictures from September 10, 1943 through January 6, 1946. And her roles at Republic consisted of some bit/support parts as well as leading lady duties in a few westerns and two serials, FEDERAL OPERATOR 99 (Republic, 1945) and KING OF THE FOREST RANGERS (Republic, 1946).

Her western heroine roles were in CORPUS CHRISTI BANDITS (Republic, 1945) and TRAIL OF KIT CARSON (Republic, 1945) with Allan Lane; LONE TEXAS RANGER (Republic, 1945) with Bill Elliott (as Red Ryder); and three with Don Barry, CALIFORNIA JOE (Republic, 1943), CANYON CITY (Republic, 1943), and OUTLAWS OF SANTA FE (Republic, 1944).

Helen Talbot Bailey passed away on January 29, 2010 at the age of 85 in La Jolla, California.

Above is the title lobby card from OUTLAWS OF SANTA FE (Republic, 1944) which featured Helen Talbot and youngster Twinkle Watts, both of whom were under term player contracts at Republic. Released in April, 1944, OUTLAWS was the last of Don Barry's series westerns at Republic.
