Dave Twomey lives in California, and other than a tour in the Army, has always been "Happy the Clown".  He made his debut as "Happy the Clown" fifty years ago this summer, and began his career as a youngster performing with the John Strong Circus.  During Dave's Army days, he was stationed in France.  He found several other G.I.'s who had circus backgrounds and put together a little "Street Circus" (no animals, seats or tent), and the group spent their off time entertaining the French children.

In the 1960s, he organized his "Happytime Circus", playing mainly fairs.  Currently, he has a small big top which will hold about 500 people.  Happy is one of the most popular kids' entertainers on the west coast.

Dave and Judy Twomey have two sons and a grandson, and will soon celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.

Dave is also a great fan of the B western, and during numerous conventions and such, he crossed paths with many of our favorite cowboy heroes and heroines.  Some of those folks even did "guest" appearances with Dave as shown in the photos below.

Thanks to Dave and his pals, Donn and Nancy Moyer, for providing these pics.
